Role of PEX Tees in Distinct Plumbing Applications
An effective water supply system is one which provides appropriate amount of water in all directions and with due pressure. One integral component of such an effectual system is PEX tees. These are metallic based units which are used for altering the flow of direction of water according to desired requirement.
Copper and brass are two of the metals which are utilized for manufacturing these items. Presence of these metals imparts durability and strength to these units making them truly robust in nature. Due to this high strength these units play a key role in any kind of water plumbing mechanism. Water flowing through one single line can either be combined or separated by making proper use of PEX tees. They can be also combined along with opening or closing valve which imparts full control over the water being supplied. Such mechanics helps in avoiding wastage of water by regulating its supply.
PEX tubing which are attached with these units are obtainable in different sizes. So, these items are also crafted in distinct sizes. Normally, ¾” and ½” are the sizes in which these items are available. Installing such units in the plumbing structure imparts a T-like shape to the overall line. Just like a ‘T’, water from one line is made to flow in various directions. Open ends and closed ends are two different types in which these PEX tees are designed. While all the three ends of an Open tee are opened, two ends of a closed one are closed.
Both ends of these structures are of same size while there are specially crafted units as well which are known as ‘reducing tees’. Such items have different sizes on both ends so that thicker sized tubing can be connected into numerous thinner sizes so as to attain equitable flow of water through both ends. Moreover, these units are made with qualitative brass which imparts high resistance to corrosion to these items. Even the water supplied through them is free from scaling and chlorination which makes it totally fit for all kinds of uses.
So, it is not wrong to say that PEX tees are must units for all types of plumbing applications.
